Beauty in things forsaken

Have you ever wondered why many Christians are so quick to judge things such as movies. They see something that scares them just a little bit and it is immediately of the Devil.

Well, with all that aside I have found some truly valuable gems in movies that otherwise would be considered sinful.

Here are a few for you to think over:

From Dusk Till Dawn

SETH GECKO
Are you just a faithless preacher,
or are you a mother f****** servant
of God?

JACOB FULLER
I'm a...mmmmm....mmm...hmmm...hmm...
servant of God.

Black Snake Moan

RAE
You know how people are always saying
you gotta get right with Jesus if you
want not to go to hell. You kinda say
you're sorry and Jesus will let you
into heaven.

REVEREND R.L.:
You can put it that way....What's on
your mind?

RAE:
You can't go around hurting people and
say you're sorry and it all gets washed
away. Why would heaven want people like
that?

REVEREND R.L.:
I'm gonna tell you something and it's
just gonna be between you and me. I
think folks carry on about heaven too
much, like it's some kinda all you can
eat buffet up in the clouds, and folks
just do as their told so they can eat
whatever they want behind some pearly
gates.
(beat)
There's sin in my heart, there's evil
in the world, but when I got no one I
talk to God. I ask for strength, I ask
for forgiveness -- not peace at the end
of my days when I got no more life to
live or no more good to do, but today,
right now.
(beat)
What's your heaven?

Dogma

BARTLEBY
In the beginning, it was just us and
Him. Angels and God. And then He
created the humans. And He gave them
more than He ever gave us. Our's was
designed to be a life of servitude
and worship - adoration. But He gave
the humans more - He gave them a
choice. They can choose to ignore
God, choose to acknowledge Him. All
this time we've been down here,
everyday I felt the absence of the
Divine presence. And it pained me...
as I'm sure it must have pained you
sometimes, even though you'd gloss
over it with jokes. But we feel his
absence, and why? Because of the
way He made us -as servants. Had
we been given free will, we could
ignore the pain... like them.

LOKI
You know - maybe you should take
a nap or something.

BARTLEBY
Loki, don't you get it? It's the
humans - it's always the humans.
They were given paradise; they
threw it away. They were given
this planet; they destroyed it.
They were favored best among all
His endeavors; and some of them
don't even believe He exists.
Their ego-mania corroded Hell and
made it dark and crimson.

So there are a few things I find worth while is some films that are often times considered ungodly or repulsive. God can use anybody...anybody.

Psalm 42

1 As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, O God.

2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?

3 My tears have been my food
day and night,
while men say to me all day long,
"Where is your God?"

4 These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:
how I used to go with the multitude,
leading the procession to the house of God,
with shouts of joy and thanksgiving
among the festive throng.

5 Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and 6 my God.
My [c] soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.

7 Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.

8 By day the LORD directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.

9 I say to God my Rock,
"Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I go about mourning,
oppressed by the enemy?"

10 My bones suffer mortal agony
as my foes taunt me,
saying to me all day long,
"Where is your God?"

11 Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.

Trusting

I am pretty sure that no one reads this blog but none the less I write here. If you don't know a thing about me I am a Christian and face the same issues anyone does. Anyway, about 8 months back I made a decision to spend a lot of money to make a feature film. A lot of money that was all on credit.

Not sure if that was a good idea or not but what I do know is that 1) it is taking a lot longer to finish this project than I was hoping and 2) that the payments I have to make each month are so overwhelming it makes me wonder how I'm going to continue. I have a job interview for auto sales today that I will probably go to just so I can start making money. I am drastically behind in my bills and am hoping that I will be able to cover what I owe, even as early as tomorrow...or today.

This is teaching me that I need to put a whole lot of trust in God, cause I am not doing very well finacially at all.

Let's hope I can make some money. Oh how nice it would be to get about $5000 dropped in my lap - that might catch me up.

Trust God, Trust God.

Yikes!

Have you ever wondered why it is so easy to find a job when you don't really need one and insanely difficult to near impossible to find one when you are desperate to make enough money to pay your bills?

So I've been applying for jobs for the two months and have not even been called in for an interview. To top it off, background work doesn't pay the outrageous amounts I owe for the movie I just made and I wont be selling it for another few months.

So with that said. Anyone have a job opening that pays around $15+ an hour?
